You know we love a good Resort Hopping day and during the Holidays is no exception! The Gingerbread Displays at the resorts are NOT to miss and a great way to spend a non-park day.

First things first, Getting Around

Ok, so the ‘trickiest’ part of doing this is knowing how to get the different resorts. If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can use Disney Transportation. BUT if you are staying off property or are a local, you can use Disney Transportation, but you do have that added element of parking your car.

The resorts that offer Gingerbread Displays are The Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. You can do all of these in a day, just make sure you plan PLENTY of time for transportation!

If you are coming from Off Property, you will want to park your car at Disney Springs, or at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios if you have an Annual Pass. Then you’ll use Disney Transportation to get where you need to go!

If staying at a Disney resort, remember, there is no ‘resort to resort’ transportation, so you will also need to start at one of these places and then transfer to the resorts from there.

The Grand Floridian

This is the most popular of the Gingerbread displays and for good reason! You will find a life size gingerbread house right in the lobby! It is decorated in flowers, hidden Mickeys, chocolate, and icing! The smell in the lobby is amazing and if you are looking for some gingerbread treats to take home, there is even a small shop INSIDE of the gingerbread house!

I will warn you that this line get LOOONG, so I recommend getting there first thing when they open or later in the afternoon (before the parks close).

The Contemporary

This display is for my hidden Mickey fans! This giant castle display is entirely made of gingerbread and chocolate and features 12 hidden mickeys! I won’t lie…. we only were able to find 11.

You can also purchase gingerbread treats and hot coco at a small booth next to the display. This is going to be located on the main level of the resort right behind the gift shop.

Beach Club

This is one of my personal favorites! This is the Gingerbread Carousel! Each year they do a different theme and this year it’s themed to Duck Tales World Showcase Adventure! This is an interactive scavenger hunt that you can play throughout Epcot World Showcase. YES! It’s actually a working carousel that moves (although… you can’t ride it) and each horse represents a different country with Huey, Dewy, and Louie in their own fun attire.

The booth that sells treats and hot cocoa here is my favorite as you can get an adult hot cocoa flight featuring different liquers and toppings! Don’t worry, they have regular hot chocolate that is spectacular too.

Boardwalk

This gingerbread Display is a tiny version of the Boardwalk Bakery in gingerbread form! You’ll find Mickey & Minnie inside baking up all the pastries and although this is the smallest of the gingerbread displays, it’s still alot of fun to see!

Side note…. this resort, in true Boardwalk fashion, has the weirdest and most unique holiday decor, so don’t forget to check that out!

You can also find a small booth that will sell a few treats and hot cocoa.

The Yacht Club

This is a BRAND NEW location for a Gingerbread Display this year! There is a giant gingerbread lighthouse that you can enjoy along with a small Christmas village with a toy train. I love all the details in the village and the lighthouse is a fun addition!

There aren’t any treats at this location, but you can easily walk back over to the Beach Club for all of your gingerbread snacks!

Animal Kingdom Lodge

This is definitely the most unique of the Gingerbread displays. Here, you are going to find Ginger and the Debra, the Gingerbread Giraffe and Zebra. These are super fun and its a great stop for animal lovers as you can check out the REAL zebras and giraffes on the savanna just outside!

If you are visiting for the holidays, you absolutely want to make sure to hit up at least a few of these spectacular displays! You can do these for an afternoon breaks out of the park or make a whole day out of it. Either way, it’s a great way to experience the holidays at Disney World!
