Food That’s ACTUALLY Good in Magic Kingdom

I won’t lie, Magic Kingdom is probably my least favorite when it comes to eats at Disney. BUT that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few gems! I’m sharing some of my favorites that I think are definitely worth going out of your way for on your next visit to the Magic Kingdom.

First up, we’re heading towards Adventureland for a tasty twist on a classic! At Aloha Isle, you’ll find a variety of Dole Whip options, but my personal favorite is the Tropical Serenade. This appeared on the menu during Disney World’s 50th celebration and I am pleased to report that it’s stuck around!

This is coconut dole whip with POG juice and a pineapple upside-down cake pop. The coconut dole whip is also available on it’s own, you just have to ask for it as it doesn’t show on the menu. It’s like a lighter take on vanilla soft-serve and not super cocunutty, but the POG juice with it is a refreshing take on a classic Dole Whip float!

If you are looking for a sit-down meal, my favorite in the park happens to be Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper Canteen. If you are a fan of the Jungle Cruise attraction, this restaurant is an extension of that! You’ll find lots of fun easter eggs and corny jokes from your Skipper waiter or waitress.

Some of our favorites are the Carrot Ginger Soup which is the ‘soup of the day’. This is creamy and has some nuts that give it a great texture.

We also love the Chicken Tenders and of course you can’t forget to ask for the secret menu Brazillian Cheese Bread!

Heading out of Adventureland and into Frontierland, you are going to come up on Golden Oak Outpost. This little stand is unassuming, BUT they have one of my favorite Quick Service eats in the park! You can grab the loaded chicken tenders that come with fries, chicken tenders (of course) nacho cheese, bacon bits, and green onions. Bonus if you grab some sour cream from Pecos Bill next door!

Liberty Square has my number one favorite eat in the whole park! Sleepy Hollow Refreshments is right near the bridge leading to the Castle hub or right next to the Hall of Presidents attraction. If you are looking for something sweet, I HIGHLY recommend the Nutella Fruit Waffle. This is a HUGE portion that’s easy to share featuring a fresh waffle topped with nutella, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. Patriotic yes?

For a more savory option, you can get the Chicken & Waffle ‘sandwich’. This has chicken with a hot honey glaze (although lately it hasn’t been very spicy), coleslaw, and it comes with a side of kettle chips. This is also an excellent portion to share if you want a heavy snack or a whole meal all on it’s own! This is also a great location to get free cups of water.

Another sit-down restaurant that has pleasantly surprised me is the Winnie the Pooh Character meal at Crystal Palace. This is buffet style for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’ve dined here for lunch and there was a great selection of food offerings that were great for both picky and adventurous eaters alike.

The dessert, although simple, was also super delicious!

And of course, we can’t forget about the characters. You’ll meet Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. I definitely would love to go back and try this one for breakfast as I’ve heard they have CHURRO Mickey Waffles!

I know that everyone loves a good Mickey Pretzel, BUT I’ve gotta put you onto this pepperjack pretzel from Cheshire Cafe! It’s stuffed with a pepperjack cheese and it has a teensy zing without being spicy! DEFINITELY worth a try!

We’ve gotta mention at least ONE quick service option! Casey’s Corner is a Magic Kingdom CLASSIC and for good reason. I know hot dogs and corn dog nuggets don’t sound like anything special, but nothing tastes better than some corn dog nuggets with ‘plastic’ cheese (aka nacho cheese) while sitting on the hub grass and enjoying the view of the castle. Don’t forget to check out the Casey’s Corner piano player for some fantastic tunes!

And finally, back down at the front of Main Street, you are going to find a restaurant that technically I don’t recommend…. BUT there is ONE thing on the menu that is worth going out of your way for!

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant is themed after the Spaghetti Restaurant in Lady and the Tramp. This is of course going to serve your classic Italian fare that is probably mostly on par with Olive Garden. It isn’t bad by any means, but it isn’t exactly stellar either.

There is a newer item on the menu that is a showstopper and definitely worth getting if you are dining here! The Garlic Bread Fondue is spectacular! This is a tower of garlic breadsticks and comes with a cup of cheese fondue that you pour over the top. It’s honestly the ONLY reason I’ll ever book a meal at Tony’s.

Am I forgetting anything? Have some eats that YOU love at Magic Kingdom? Share them with us in the comments!
