CommuniCore Hall is Officially Open in Epcot!

CommuniCore Hall is the last piece to complete the new World Celebration area of Epcot and I’m taking you along to show you all you can see and do as it opens today June 10th, 2024!

What is it?

CommuniCore Hall is going to be a multi-use space that is primarily the permanent Festival Showcase. You’ll be able to experience things from live entertainment, demonstrations, galleries, foodie stops, characters, and more!

You’ll find this located to the right of World Celebration Gardens and across from the Land and Imagination Pavilions.

CommuniCore Hall

This are is broken up into a few spaces, first is CommuniCore Hall. This is where the Festival focus will mostly be centralized. This is a decent sized indoor space that they will be able to transform to accommodate a variety of activities. They may showcase art for purchase during Festival of the Arts, have cooking demonstrations in their working kitchens for Food & Wine Festival, and more!

Currently as we are between festivals, this space is mostly set up as a place to go relax out of the sun and let me tell you, that a/c was AMAZING. There are lots of tables and chairs as well as some couches where you can eat lunch, take a break, or even a nap (I won’t judge).

Festival Favorites

Around the corner outside you’ll find Festival Favorites. Think of this as your permanent rotating festival booth. Right now to celebrate the Encanto show they are serving up some of mama Julietta’s famous Arepas and a Coconut Tres Leches Cake that is my FAVORITE.

This is also a great place to grab some waters and drinks!

The menus will most likely rotate seasonally or based on whatever festival is going on at the time, so make sure to make a pit stop here to see what they have!

CommuniCore Plaza

This is the outdoor entertainment space. This has a mix of turf and concrete with some picnic tables surrounding the outside. The stage up at the front will host performances throughout the year, again based on whatever festival is going on a the moment.

Currently it is “Celebracion Encanto” and “La Calle” for the summer and then will switch out to others later in the year. Think Joyful during Festival of the Holidays, Painters, Musicians, and Acrobats for Festival of the Arts, and more!

I’ll be honest that most of the viewing area is in direct sun, so you’ll want to catch shows earlier in the day, or opt to stand off to the side of the stage under the awning for some shade.

You can see even more of this area in our full video!

Meet Mickey & Friends

Mickey finally has his permanent Meet & Greet back! On the other side of the CommuniCore building, you’ll find the entrance to this meet & greet. You’ll be able to meet Mickey (of course), Minnie, and then a rotating character from the fab five including characters like Goofy and Daisy.

Outside the queue, and inside the photo space, pay close attention to the murals! You’ll catch all kinds of fun characters as well as nods to ones from old attractions.

This meet and greet does offer Lightning Lane as as this will probably be a popular one with LOOONG lines, a great use of one! The queue is mostly in shade, but on days where it gets longer, you may be standing in the sun for a bit, so make sure you have your water and maybe an umbrella handy for some portable shade.

A Few More Things

Across from Mickey’s Meet & Greet, you will find a long white wall with a merchandise cart. It honestly still looked a little empty, so I’ll be curious to see what they do with that space! There is lighting installed so maybe another meet & greet location? We’ll have to wait and see!

There are also restrooms next to Festival Favorites and HOLY COW these are probably the nicest bathrooms in Disney! They are a moderate size and it’s great to finally have restrooms in that location.

Right outside the bathrooms, you’ll find a water bottle refill station and water fountain. This is also a GREAT location for this and I’m super pleased that Disney is installing more and more water bottle stations all the time. I can also confirm that yes, the water is icy cold!
