Gideon’s Bakehouse In Disney Springs

One of the hot ticket stops in Disney Springs right now is definitely Gideon’s Bakehouse. These cookies have been super popular for a long time at Disney. You used to be able to snag one at Polite Pig (as long as they had not sold out) but because they were so popular, they decided to open up an entire location dedicated to the ooey gooey treats!

These are super rich cookies, cakes, drinks, and other treats featuring a variety of flavors. These are CRAZY rich treats, so you definitely want to have a sweet tooth to enjoy these eats!

This is an extremely popular location so you will want to join the virtual queue once you arrive. To do this, you will need to go to the Bakehouse and greet a cast member who will help you join the queue. Once it is your time to go in, you will receive a text message to come back. This queue does fill up quick, so you will want to do it as soon as you get to Disney Springs. We arrived around 4pm on a Sunday and had about a 70 minute wait (during a very low crowd time of year).

The virtual queue is a nice touch because you are able to shop and walk around a bit before it’s your time to go in instead of wasting a bunch of time waiting in line.

Once inside, you will find a dark gothic style theming with unique character drawings and props all around the shop. You will also find a bakery case with all the available options so that you can have an idea of your selections before you get to the counter to order.

You will want to be on the lookout for any specialty items that they may have! There is usually a flavor of the month and even some treats that you can only get early in the morning or after dark. We were able to snag the Rocky Road Cookie (and the very last one of the day!) which was the cookie of the month for August.

One of my favorite things inside was the ‘fire’ that was in front of the checkout counter! It was actually just some fog with lights, but it gave it a super cool and spooky effect!

BUT how does it all taste?

We purchased the original Chocolate Chip and the Rocky Road Cookies. We also got the Cookies and Cream Cold Brew which wasn’t even technically on the menu yet! To be honest…. it was all SUPER sweet. We love sweets, but these tasted like I was just eating pure chocolate and not really a cookie. The flavors were good, but the super rich chocolate meant that we could only eat about a bite and a half and then we were done.

The good news is that means these cookies are super shareable between a few people! Get one or two and then cut them up into smaller pieces for everyone to try.

The Cookies and Cream Cold Brew on the other hand was delicious and much better than the cookies. It was for sure still pretty sweet, but not nearly as rich as the the chocolate cookies! We would definitely go back for this.

Gideon’s Bakehouse is definitely a fun little place to try at least once, just go into it knowing that you are going to be eating some pretty SWEET treats!
