Disney World is very different now days than it has been in previous years. Because of the global situation, some things are open, some are not, park hours are shorter, and of course masks are required at all times.

This means that you have to think a little differently about planning your trip, including what to pack.

Here are 10 things you NEED to bring with you on your next Disney Vacation to not only stay safe and healthy, but to also make your trip a little more magical.

1. Face Masks, and LOTS of them!

Currently, Disney requires facemasks on all Disney property including the resorts and Parks. Of course you can take them off when you are in your room, stationary and eating, or swimming in the pools, but all other times you need to be prepared to wear one.

It’s a good idea to make sure that all your masks are comfortable to wear outside in the Florida heat and to wear all day long.

Disney Themed Face Masks

If you are not used to wearing a face mask for long periods of time, make sure you practice. Take a long walk at the park, or just try wearing it all day for a day or two. I don’t recommend doing this often, but at least a few times so that you know what to expect when you are at Disney and you aren’t miserable on day 1.

Not only should they be comfortable, but make sure you pack LOTS.

You will be sweaty, there can be rain, and you may ride a water ride. These can make your mask wet and at that point, useless and not very fun to wear. It’s a good idea to have several extra to change throughout the day.

2. Extra Sanitizer and Clorox Wipes

Disney does a great job of cleaning and sanitizing, but it’s always a good idea to have some extra supplies on hand. You may find a moment where they are out of sanitizer at a certain location or you may even be sensitive to certain kinds.

Having your own means that you don’t have to worry about finding some and I have found that wipes come in handy not only to clean surfaces, but clean your hands/face when you’ve eaten something particularly messy!

3. Personal Fan or Cooling Cloths

Remember earlier when I was talking about being sweaty? Florida is pretty warm most of the year and when you add a facemask on top of that, it can be pretty toasty!

We LOVE using personal fans to cool off at Disney. They come in all kinds of variations and they are perfect for standing in hot queue lines and other moments out in the sun.

Cooling cloths are also a way to help wipe away the sweat and add a little cool moisture to your neck and skin. Just be careful not to get your mask too wet!

4. Anti Fog Spray

This is especially helpful if you have glasses or sunglasses. It can be tricky to find a mask that doesn’t fog up your glasses when you breath, but with a little anti fog spray, you can greatly reduce the amount of fog that collects.

Not only will you have fog free glasses, but you will also get to actually SEE all those beautiful memories you will be making!

5. Reusable Straws

Last year, Disney rolled out that they would no longer be using single use plastic straws and instead switching to paper ones.

I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing that ruins my enjoyment of a yummy drink than a soggy paper straw…

Having a few reusable straws will let you enjoy your drink and you save a few extra trees in the process! Just make sure that you clean them regularly so that you don’t get yourself sick… Nobody wants that.

6. Pins to Trade

There are alot of activities that are not currently available at Disney, but one that is still running is pin trading!

There are various pin trading boards all throughout Disney World and its a great activity to do for all ages!

You can purchase some cheap pins online (make sure you read reviews to make sure that they are real pins) and keep them in your park bag. That way when you come across a trading board, you are ready to find some awesome treasures to take home as souviners!

7. Body Glide

If you are anything like me, shorts are nice to wear, but the heat rash is BRUTAL!

Body Glide is a little deodorant-like stick that help to reduce the friction on rub spots and prevents that dreaded heat rash.

I have also found that Leggings, although warm, do help with preventing rubbing while still being comfortable to wear.

8. Fun Ears and Disney Outfits of Course!

Disney is a really great place to take lots of pictures to capture those wonderful vacation memories!

It’s kind of a bummer that we have to wear face masks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun with your wardrobe.

Have fun with matching Disney tshirts or a custom set of ears! This will still give your pictures some life, even if we can’t see your whole face.

Check out some of the custom ears I have for sale in my etsy shop!

9. A Camera to Capture Those Memories

Building on the fun outfits, it’s a good idea to have a camera ready to capture those moments!

Disney does have Photopass Photographers in the parks, but they are a little more scarce to find. For sure take advantage of using them if you have memory maker, but if you don’t have it, using your own camera is a great idea!

Even if you don’t have an actual camera, your phone usually works just fine! Just make sure that you don’t forget to bring some chargers so you don’t drain your batteries!

10. Patience

Disney is VERY different than it once was and although it is still a magical place, it will definitely be a test of your patience.

Try to do your best to know that the cast members are working HARD to keep you safe and healthy while still providing a memorable experience. Lines may be a little longer and you may have to have some lowered expectations.

Don’t worry, if you keep this in mind and follow my other tips, you will definitely have a magical adventure and a truly unique vacation!
