Ultimate Guide to Jollywood Nights at Disney’s HolLywood Studios

Disney's Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios is a BRAND NEW event and we attended the first one! Get your glitz and bowties on and let's explore what this party has to offer together. I won't sugar coat that there weren't some pretty major kinks that need worked out, BUT that doesn't mean there weren't some incredible moments during the night. Let’s explore what this all new event has to offer together!

What is it?

Jollywood Nights is a special ticketed event that runs select nights from November 11th-December 20th, 2023. Ticket prices range from $159-$179 per person and there are discounts available for Annual Passholders and DVC Members.

This is an After Hours event running from 8:30pm-12:30am. Guests can enter the parks as early at 7pm, but you do NOT have to have a regular day ticket to attend this event. (Your regular day ticket also will NOT gain you entrance to this event, you must have a party ticket)

The vibe of the evening is a glitzy glam evening full of music, entertainment, food, and more. This is a family friendly event, but it is definitely geared more towards adults or those with older children.

Checking in to the party

If you do not have a normal day ticket for Hollywood Studios, you are going to enter through the party entrance. Simply look for cast members holding party signs. If you are already in the park for the day, you will need to find the party check-in station INSIDE the park located at the Mickey Vacation Shorts Theatre - next to Olaf Celebrity Spotlight.

Either way, I recommend getting in line by around 6pm so that you can beat some of the crowds. We went the first night, so of course it was busier than normal and this process probably took us the longest of anything that night.

Make sure you have your party tickets linked to your My Disney Experience account or have your physical tickets if they were mailed to you. A cast member will scan your magicband or party ticket to confirm the reservation. They will give you your wristbands, party guide, and Lanyard (keep track of this!)

You MUST have your lanyard and wristband at all times. Once the party starts, cast members will be looking for those with wristbands and will NOT allow you to ride or participate in activities without one. Make sure to get your wristband BEFORE the party starts!

When you get your wristbands, don't forget to get a party guide! This has all the showtimes, character locations, and more. You will definitely use this throughout the evening, so keep track of it!

Dressing up

Have fun and dress up in your Christmas or Hollywood Glam, or other holiday gear. Please make sure you are still adhering to Disney's guidelines. People definitely were dressed to the nines, so don’t be afraid to go all out! Just remember that you will be walking a TON, so be mindful with choosing your outfit. (especially your footwear)

Disney Holidays in Hollywood

Behold an all-new stage show inspired by the glitz and glamour of vintage Hollywood TV specials—with a contemporary twist and some holiday magic—at Theater of the Stars.

This fresh new show is a MUST see! and includes some of your favorite characters like Mickey, Minnie, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Tiana, and Belle. I highly recommend getting in line for this one around 30-45 minutes ahead of time. Showtimes - 8:45pm, 9:45pm, 10:45pm, 11:45pm

This was our personal favorite of the evening! It was totally original and very funny. The talent was incredible and so spot on, and this is probably my number one not-to-miss offering of the night.

I recommend doing the shows earlier in the evening as the lines for some of the other offerings like food and characters died down towards the end of the night.

What’s This? Tim Burton’s the Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along

Join Jack Skellington at Hyperion Theater for a dreamlike adventure inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is a sing along with a very unique storyline! You’ll encounter characters like Jack and Ooogie Boogie and see some fun surprises along the way. Again, I recommend getting in line around 30-45 minutes ahead of time - My suggestion is to do the first show so you don’t miss any party time! Showtimes - 8:30pm, 9:30pm, 10:30pm, 11:30pm

This show was also excellent. A friend compared it to cirque du solei in storytelling style (without the acrobatics) and I would say that’s very accurate. It was a great way to start the event!

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM

Wrap up your evening of festive fun with this dazzling nighttime spectacular—returning to Disney's Hollywood Studios only during Disney Jollywood Nights. This is done on the Chinese Theatre in the middle of the park, so anywhere in the courtyard will give you a great view. Be warned, the music is LOUD, so if you have sensitivity to lound noises, earplugs may be a great idea.

These are our favorites! Get 15% off of Loop Earplugs (referral)

Twilight Soiree at the Tip Top Club

Located in the Haunted Mansion Courtyard, this snazzy lounge includes a live jazz band playing your favorite Christmas tunes while you sip on fruity cocktails from another dimension.

I’ll be honest that this space is TINY and can get very crowded. I recommend saving this towards the end of the night when crowds have died down. The cocktail cart is located further down the path past the band, so if you don’t see it, just keep walking and you’ll find the line. We didn’t try the drinks, but we heard they are VERY sweet!

Jazzy Holidays at the Hollywood Brown Derby

Located in the Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant, you’ll dine on heavy small plates and apps exclusive to the party while listening to Piano Jazz renditions of your favorite Disney Songs. The food offerings are at an additional price.

This experience will take you around 45 minutes to 1 hour, so plan your time accordingly! If you don’t need a big sit down meal, this one might be a skip for you.

Capacity for this one is limited, so you will need to join the Walk Up Waitlist at EXACTLY 8:15pm. Here’s How:

  • - Search the ‘Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant’ in the My Disney Experience App.

  • - Click on ‘Join Walk Up Waitlist’

  • - Enter your party information and then you will be notified when your table is ready. (this is how all walk-up waitlists work at Disney, btw)

  • - JUST A NOTE! These reservations will go FAST, so make sure to be ready at EXACTLY 8:15pm.

Virtual Queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Guests attending Disney Jollywood Nights will have an opportunity to request to join the virtual queue for this attraction at 8:00 PM. This is only available for Guests on the day of the event they are attending, and their specific event tickets must be linked to their My Disney Experience account in order to join the virtual queue. Guests attending this special ticketed event do not need to be inside Disney's Hollywood Studios to request to join at the time the queue becomes available.

Most of the other attractions in this park will also be available with reduced wait times! Attractions include:

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Tower of Terror

Rockin’ Roller Coaster

Slinky Dog Dash

Toy Story Mania

Alien Swirling Saucer

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Star Tours

PRO TIP - Oga’s Cantina is open during the event via walk-up! If you’ve ever wanted to try this place out, this is a great way to do it!

Photopass Opportunities

There are some fantastic brand new photo opportunities at this event! You will of course find lots of Photopass Photographers around the park to take pictures and many will have exclusive ‘magic shots’ (pictures with fun elements or surprises edited in) available.

Brand new for this event in the Disney Junior theatre, you can find special red carpet inspired photo-ops including a slomo video taken by a robot camera just like they do on the real red carpet!

Remember, you must have Memory Maker to get your downloads of any of the photos from the party! You can purchase this ahead of time with your vacation package to save money (and use it for your entire trip) OR purchase a single day option in the app.

Character Encounters

  • - Mickey & Friends Holiday Greeting – Head to Animation Courtyard and meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto on the set of their holiday movie!

  • - Echo Lake Holiday Celebration – Step into nostalgialand at Echo Lake, where you may spot some classic Disney Channel pals—like Powerline Max, Rescue Rangers Chip 'n' Dale, Phineas and Ferb!

  • - Holidays à la Mode – Chill out and pose for pics with Edna Mode and Frozone at this super-fun party in Pixar Place.

More Live Entertainment

There are even more opportunities to check out live entertainment!

  • - Holiday Fiesta en la Calle is a fun party with live singers pumping up the jams with latin tunes.

  • - You can also find DJs in select areas of the park playing some awesome holiday tunes.

Specialty Treats

You will find LOADS of specialty food items all around the park. These are available for an additional price and lines tend to be longer at the beginning of the night. Definitely give those zero-proof cocktails a try! (non-alcoholic) They were the highlight of the night for us!

You can find all the food locations AND get your FREE Printable food guide HERE.

Merchandise

The regular Christmas and Holiday merchandise will be available during the party, but the only exclusive Jollywood merchandise item is a t-shirt. You can find this in the Once Upon a Time Giftshop on Sunset Blvd next to the Theatre of the Stars.

As an added bonus, they do give you a complimentary wooden coaster set as you leave the park, so if you aren’t a T-shirt person, this is a nice touch!

Overall, I think the event definitely has some growing pains that it will go through this year, but I do think it’s a great addition and it makes me excited to see how they will improve upon it next year!
