What Not to Miss On Your First Disney Visit

Planning a Disney Trip can be overwhelming, especially when there are so many things to see, eat, and experience.

To make things a little easier, we’ve compiled a list of our top “Must Do’s” for your first trip to Disney World!

1. Stay On Property

Often times, people with go the less expensive route and stay off property, but you miss out on so much by doing that! Of course you can still visit the resorts, but you won’t be fully immersed in the “Disney Bubble”.

Along with staying on property, you get to take advantage of FREE Disney transportation, which brings me to our next must do:

2. Ride on Disney’s many forms of transportation!

Of course you have the Disney buses, but there are also other iconic vehicles like the monorail! This is almost a right of passage to say you really went to Disney!

Disney Skyliner Epcot Station

Don’t forget about the brand new Skyliner! This one was a little nerve wracking at first, but it’s a relaxing ride and you get some amazing views!

Minnie Vans – these are not free, but definitely a fun form of transportation that’s worth a try!

Another relaxing ride is on one of the many boats around property! They can be a little slower, but they are great if you want to enjoy some scenic views!

Regardless of which you choose, it’s totally worth it to make a point to experience one or more of these classic Disney transportation systems!

3. Let’s head to the parks! Ride a classic Disney ride!

Especially in Magic Kingdom, you have rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and out personal favorite: It’s a Small World!

These rides really give off the classic Disney vibes and it’s a little look into the early days of the Disney Parks!

4. Now that you’ve worked up your appetite, try an Iconic Disney Snack!

If you aren’t eating at Disney, you’re missing out! There is so much delicious food at Disney, it’s one of the biggest reasons we love going!

At the very least, you should try one or more of the classic park snacks.

My personal favorite is a Mickey Pretzel with ‘plastic cheese’ (don’t worry, it’s not really plastic), but there is also the famous Dole Whip! Check out our post on how we made our own at home!

Some other iconic favorites include Churros, Mickey Premium Bars, Popcorn, and even a Turkey Leg!

5. And finally, take your snack over to the hub and get the picture in front of the castle!
