2021 Staycation Tips
It can be really tricky to travel right now, so the idea of "staycations" is becoming more and more popular!
We have 5 tips for you to get the most out of your next staycation so lets jump right in!
Approach it as a real vacation -
Do research to find out what the best things to do, eat and stay are in your hometown or nearby - Pinterest, Instagram, and of course good ol' google are excellent tools to help you find things to do that you never knew existed right in your hometown!
Budget and Save for Your 'Trip'
If you want this to actually feel like a vacation, you will need to make sure you actually have money to spend. This means breaking it down like you would when you normally travel and come up with a savings plan and budget for your 'trip'.
This will allow you to 'treat yourself' to that fancy dinner, spa day, or splurgy 'souvenir' because you have the money to actually spend.
Create an Itinerary
This is fun and helps you to feel like a vacation, but also keep you on track to hit all the sights and adventures that you want to
2. What are some things you can do?
Spa day - treat yourself to some well deserved relaxation and pampering. This is vacation after all!
Stay at a hotel and enjoy it to the fullest - use the pool, eat at the restaurants or even order room service!
Explore nature or state/national park - Get outside and enjoy mother nature. Allow yourself to recharge and get some fresh air and vitamin D!
Find local restaurants or attractions - Tour your city like a tourist and discover something new or something you have visited a thousand times but love!
Visit a local museum - Museums often have special exhibits, so even if you have visited before, you may discover something new and learn something along the way.
Shop at some fun unique local shops - It’s always great to support local and this is a great way to remember your staycation by!
3. Unplug from 'real life"
Much like you would a normal trip, you want to detach from work and responsibilities as much as possible so that you can truly feel like you are on vacation.
Put those work emails on hold and wait to text your friends and family as much as possible so that you can relax and ENJOY your staycation.
