Polite Pig In Disney Springs

Calling all BBQ fan!!!! This one is definitely for you!

We recently got to try Polite Pig in Disney Springs and spoiler… we LOVED it! We have walked by this restaurant many times and the smell was incredibly tempting, we just had to finally give it a try!

You will find this restaurant located right next to the entrance to the Lime Garage, so it’s pretty quick to find!

This is technically a Quick Service Restaurant, but they do things in a unique way from other Quick Service Locations. You will first order your food and pay from the cashier at the front register and then they will give you a number so they know what table to bring your food to. Then when you are seated, you will have a server greet you and if you wish to order any additional food, they can help you from your table! So be sure to tip when you first pay!

The ambiance

This restaurant has a modern but cozy farmhouse comfort vibe with patterns that reminisce being down on the farm. It’s pretty minimal, but it does add to the whole BBQ restaurant vibe. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors and you will even find a full service bar partially indoor and outdoors if you are just interested in some drinks and house beers.

Because there is quite a bit of seating, this restaurant can get pretty noisy when it is busy, so keep that in mind if you were looking for a quiet relaxing meal.

The Menu

As mentioned earlier, this is primarily a BBQ restaurant. You can even see them prepare the meats in their open prep area and kitchen! You will find a variety of BBQ dishes like ribs, brisket, and other smoked meats as well as plenty of sandwiches! If you are looking for some healthier options, there are also plenty of salad options available!

This restaurant is pretty well known for their sides, so be sure to try one! (or two… or three!) These include things like Mac & Cheese, Brussel Sprouts, Street Corn, Roasted Cauliflower, and more.

This is also the original home to the famous Gideon’s Cookies! Although these are no longer available at this location, you can always make a stop at Gideon’s Bakehouse also located in Disney Springs. But don’t worry! There are still plenty of sweets that you can grab at this location for dessert!

Along with the food, there is also a bar serving a variety of beer, wine, and cocktails. This is located right in the middle of the restaurant away from the register, so feel free to run up and grab yourself a drink!

If non alcoholic is more your speed, there are self serve soda and tea stations where you can also find the variety of sauces and other condiments.

Our Review

We wanted to be able to try a few different things from the menu, so we opted for the sandwich sampler trio including: The Southern Pig, The Low & Slow Brisket, and The Fried Chicken.

The Southern Pig was definitely our favorite! The meat was super juicy and tender and full of flavor! The slaw also gave the sandwich a nice crunch and created a nice mix of textures. The bread for all three was soft, warm, and buttery which is exactly what you want for barbeque!

The Low and Slow Brisket was a VERY close second! The brisket was also tender and had a great smokey flavor. This sandwich has Pimento Cheese (my fav!) and made this sandwich very creamy and smoky. The brisket was a touch on the drier side, but it definitely wasn’t bad! Add a touch of BBQ Sauce and it would be perfect!

The third slider - The Fried Chicken, was a little lack luster. The chicken was super crispy and juicy on the inside, but it was covered in a super sweet BBQ sauce that wasn’t our favorite. It wasn’t bad by any means, but the sweetness was pretty overpowering over the other flavors. This would be a great one for kiddos who aren’t fans of a ton of different flavors.

We also HAD to try the Brussel Sprouts and we were so glad we did! They were the perfect amount of crispy and tender and they are covered in a caramel glaze that gave them the perfect amount of sweetness. These probably weren’t the healthiest veggies we’ve ever had, but we loved them and would recommend them in a heartbeat!

Overall Thoughts

We really enjoyed this restaurant! The Cast Members were very nice and the environment had an overall pleasant and happy buzz to it. We also really loved the unique combination of Quick Service with additional table service features. It made us feel very well taken care of and we absolutely can’t wait to get back to try more of the delicious offerings!
